One of the best parts of our jobs at Chicken Delight is getting out into the communities that have supported us for more than 60 years!

Check back to this section often for upcoming community appearances and reports from our adventures!

2013-14 Appearances

Salvation Army Volunteer Appreciation

We were happy to join in showing our appreciation to all the volunteers who work with the Salvation Army’s Toy Centre for underprivileged families!

Every year, a total of fifty volunteers and staff run the Toy Centre for four days, bringing a little more happiness to people who need it.

We thank them for their time and efforts and that’s what we supplied a free lunch to the Centre Salvation Army’s Toy Centre – for all the good work they are doing.

Double B Rodeo and Country Fair

Beausejour Rodeo 2

If you’re looking for a fun weekend out with friends and family, head out to Beausejour Manitoba, Canada for the annual end-of-summer Double B Rodeo and Country Fair at the CPTC Grounds just east of town.

This semi-pro event has been running since 1993 and includes bull riding, bronco riding, tie down riding, steer wrestling, chariot racing, a parade and midway rides.

There’s something for everyone of all ages – even a cowboy driving the 1958 Chicken Delight chicken mobile! That cowboy is Ron Borkowsky, owner of the Beausejour Manitoba Chicken Delight (along with CD, our Chicken Delight mascot).

Chicken Fest

2678 CD Web Collage

Chicken Delight is proud to be one of the sponsors of Chicken Fest, a signature annual fundraising event hosted by the Rotary Club of Winnipeg West for more than 60 years.

Proceeds from Chicken Fest go directly back into our community. Over the years, funds have been raised for major projects such as Winnipeg Harvest, The Rainbow Society, Habitat for Humanity, The Winnipeg Humane Society and Camp Manitou.

Most recently, the feature project was The Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation and their new home in the Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) Centre in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. Event proceeds went to help children with special needs and disabilities to have the same opportunities as all children.
